Wayne County students with business or project ideas are invited to apply for the Wayne County Economic Development Corporation’s Student Pitch Competition.
Now in its fourth year, the competition encourages middle school, high school and college students to develop and present entrepreneurial ideas, either individually or as part of a group project.
Unlike the adult competition, student participants submit a recorded video pitch rather than presenting live. Judges review applications, supporting materials and videos to determine award recipients.
The student competition offers multiple prizes totaling up to $5,000.
While workshops are not required for students, they are encouraged to take advantage of available online resources to strengthen their proposals and gain real-world experience in presenting ideas.
Organizers say the competition is designed to build foundational business skills and confidence, regardless of whether participants ultimately win an award.
Applications for the Student Pitch Competition are due by 4 p.m. March 6.
