State Comptroller Releases Reports on Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES

SHARE NOW

Audits conducted on one area BOCES by the State Comptroller’s Office have found the organization paid 40 employees nearly $26,000 in unearned wages and had an ineffective budget development process.

The office also reports that Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES spent roughly $111,000 annually reviewing, approving, and manually entering timesheets into the financial system.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli recommends the organization make their payroll more efficient, work with collective bargaining units to revise their pay schedule, and work on improving the accuracy of its budget estimates.

Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES serves students in Ontario, Wayne, and Yates Counties as well as parts of Seneca.
