One Ontario County town has approved a new community playground.

South Bristol announced that its board has approved the installation of a playground at its town hall, replacing the aging gear currently at the site.

The new playground will also serve a wider range of children, ages 2-12.

Councilman Jim Strickland said, “This playground will provide a safe, updated place for kids and families to enjoy for many years to come.”

Supervisor Dan Marshall said, “We’re proud to deliver this improvement thoughtfully and without additional impact to taxpayers.”

Councilman Steve Cowley said, “Enhancing our Town Hall campus strengthens our sense of place and gives families another reason to gather here.”

Councilman Scott Wohlschlegel said, “This is a positive, community-centered investment that will serve residents well.”

Councilwoman Meg Fuller said, “We’ve been really fortunate this year. Strong county sales tax numbers and careful budgeting meant we could approve this project without adding any new burden on our residents. That’s something I’m truly grateful for. Investments like this help keep South Bristol the kind of place where families feel welcome, connected, and proud to call home. And as my daughter Maisie said, ‘Yes!’”

Installation is expected to begin in the spring.
