The Village of Sodus Point will host a public meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting is part of the NY Forward Round 4 application process and will allow residents, business owners, and community stakeholders to provide input on the Village’s proposed application. Topics will include the Village’s vision for downtown revitalization, potential transformative projects, and the proposed project boundary area. Attendees will have the chance to share feedback that will help shape the application.
The meeting on Wednesday is from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sodus Point Fire Hall on Bay Street. A Zoom link will be provided on the day of the meeting for those who cannot attend in person.
The Village’s Downtown Vision Statement will be a key topic of discussion during the session. The current Vision Statement is included below for residents to review.
“Downtown Sodus Point will be a welcoming commercial district and four-season activity hub nestled in the heart of the village waterfront. The pedestrian scale and cohesive appearance of the buildings and landscape will complement the traditional setting and history while cherishing the beauty of the waterfront location. The mix of restaurants, shops, water-related and other businesses, and recreational activities will contribute to the enjoyment of the waterfront, providing an engaging atmosphere for all visitors while respecting and supporting the daily life of village residents.”
Organizers ask attendees to come prepared with suggestions for changes or in support of the vision statement as currently written.
