Seneca Lake Guardian is sponsoring a free bus trip to Albany for Gov. Kathy Hochul’s State of the State address on Jan. 13.
The Watkins Glen–based environmental advocacy group said the trip is tied to ongoing opposition to recent state energy and climate decisions, including approval of a new air permit for the Greenidge Generation power plant on Seneca Lake. The permit decision has drawn criticism from local advocates and elected officials in recent weeks.
The bus will seat up to 40 people, with pickup and drop-off locations planned in Hector and Geneva. Breakfast will be provided on the trip to Albany, with lunch available on the return trip.
Seneca Lake Guardian said the trip is intended to give residents an opportunity to attend the governor’s annual address and voice concerns directly.
