Seneca Falls Performing Arts Center Awarded $99K Grant

SHARE NOW

The Seneca Falls Performing Arts Center has been awarded a $99,000 grant from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) to support ongoing renovations at its downtown facility.

The funding is part of NYSCA’s latest round of capital project awards, which total more than $86 million for 134 projects across the state.

The Center is transforming the historic 1870 First Congregational Church at 35 State Street into a cultural and educational hub for Seneca Falls and the surrounding region. Plans include a 185-seat performance hall equipped with modern theatrical technology and an accessible stage, designed to host concerts, theater productions, dance recitals, art shows, and community programs.

In addition to the main hall, a smaller rear space known as “the Annex” will serve as a venue for workshops, smaller productions, and educational programming. The newly awarded grant will help fund Annex renovations, including restrooms, a concessions area, and a gathering space. These upgrades will allow the Center to begin offering live programming and community events while work continues on the larger Great Hall renovation.
