The Seneca Falls Police Department is warning residents not to respond to recent donation requests that appear to support law enforcement.
The department says these mailings are not affiliated with the Seneca Falls Police or the United States Deputy Sheriffs’ Association.
Thanks to a vigilant community member who brought one of the letters to the police station, authorities were able to prevent a potential donation from being sent. Police are urging anyone who receives a similar letter and items that you see pictured in our story, or has questions about donation requests claiming to support law enforcement, to contact the department before sending any money at 315-568-4850.
Residents are encouraged to share this information to help protect others in the community from potential scams.
