An investigation into a fraud complaint over a land transaction in Seneca County has resulted in the arrest of a Seneca Falls man.
Frederick Parish is accused of fraudulently filing paperwork with the county Clerk’s Office which resulted in him acquiring ownership of property in Fayette. Investigators say after acquiring the land, Parish allegedly tried to extort the original owner for money in lieu of transferring the property back.
The 57-year-old is charged with attempted grand larceny as well as two counts each of criminal possession of a forged instrument and offering a false instrument for filing.
