Two new members were elected to the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 2024. They are Diane Janes, Branch Manager with Community Bank, and Chuck Hinkel, owner of Waterloo Laundry Depot.

Diane has been a longtime Ambassador for the Chamber and has previously served on the organization’s Membership Committee and Special Events Committee. An Auburn native, Janes credits the Chamber with helping get to know more people and businesses in the Seneca County community. Besides her involvement with the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce, she is also a board member of the Kiwanis Club of Seneca Falls, a board member of the Seneca County Children Committee, and the treasurer of the Throop Fire Department Auxiliary. Janes has an extensive history of working with the public and is now a Branch Manager in Seneca County for both the Seneca Falls branch and the Ovid branch of Community Bank.

Chuck Hinkel is the owner of Waterloo Laundry Depot, a laundromat located in Waterloo. Since taking ownership of the local business, Hinkel has made significant capital improvements to the facility and has grown the operation into a regional leader. It currently provides ‘wash and fold’ services to lodging establishments throughout the Finger Lakes region. In 2019, under Hinkel’s ownership, Waterloo Laundry Depot was the recipient of the Chamber’s Small Business of the Year award. Hinkel also has extensive experience in public and media relations, having spent a number of years working for the Rochester Red Wings. He has been the Vice President of Public Relations for Citizens Bank and even created his own company called The Chuck Hinkel Agency where he created a small marketing firm for clients involved in sports and media.

Established in 1968, the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce represents over 500 businesses and associate members in the Central Finger Lakes region. It is among the region’s largest professional organizations, dedicated to advancing the general welfare and prosperity of the local business community.
