State Senator Pam Helming will recognize 26 students from across the Finger Lakes region during her 2026 Youth Leadership Recognition Award ceremony this week.
The event is scheduled for Friday at 4 p.m. in the Victor Early Childhood School Board Room.
The annual program honors students who demonstrate outstanding leadership and achievement in academics, athletics, music, the arts, and community service. Students were nominated by educators and school counselors from districts across Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, and Wayne counties.
Wayne County honorees:
Kloie Sergeant (Newark Central School District), Ian Ryan (Palmyra-Macedon Central School District), Savannah Williamson (Lyons Central School District), Sean Meyer (Marion Central School District), Caroline DeBadts (Sodus Central School District), Anna Madison (North Rose-Wolcott Central School District), Sophia Skinner (Red Creek Central School District), Benjamin Carbone (Wayne Central School District), Miles Stachowicz (East Palmyra Christian School), Ellie Alexander (Williamson Central School District), and Alycia Rickman (Gananda Central School District).
Livingston County honorees:
Ella Wood (Keshequa Central School District), Tabitha Cole (Caledonia-Mumford Central School District), Savannah Ebersole (Mount Morris Central School District), Peter Thompson (Dansville Central School District), Myra Beardsley (York Central School District), and Hannah White (Livonia Central School District).
Ontario County honorees:
Devin Hagen (Bloomfield Central School District), Kaitlyn Bedient (Marcus Whitman Central School District), Iselle Rucci (Victor Central School District), Celia Dun Moodie (Canandaigua City School District), Otto Gifford (Honeoye Central School District), Marissa Wakefield (Red Jacket Central School District), Annabelle Trickey (Phelps-Clifton Springs Central School District), Yailianys Lopez (Geneva City School District), Emily Fay (Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District), and Owen Rademacker (Naples Central School District).
Helming says the ceremony is an opportunity to recognize students who are already making a difference in their communities.
“This program recognizes young people who are already making a meaningful impact in their schools and communities,” Helming said. “Through their leadership, service and commitment to excellence, they are setting an example for others to follow.”
