A 17-year-old is facing charges after a rifle was found in his vehicle on the Romulus Central School campus on Monday.
Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies say the school’s resource officer was alerted to the unloaded firearm and quickly secured it. Investigators say the teen had the rifle in his car but made no threats, and the incident was determined to be isolated.
The teen, whose name was not released due to his age, was charged with criminal possession of a weapon on school grounds.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
