A Rochester woman is facing charges after injuring a Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputy on Friday.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, just before 11:00a, deputies responded to a domestic dispute on the roadway of State Route 104 near Lincoln Road in the Town of Ontario.
During their investigation, Demaris Willis was found to have an active warrant against her from the Rochester Police Department. When deputies tried to detain the 36-year-old, she began resisting, resulting in one deputy being injured.
Willis was arrested and charged with Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Governmental Administration, and Assault Agaisnt a Police Officer. She was taken to Wayne County Jail for arraignment.
The deputy was treated at an area hospital and released.
