If you live in the Phelps area, you’re invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony this weekend for the new basketball and pickleball court located at the Phelps Community Center. Sunday’s ribbon cutting will be held at 2:15 and will be followed by basketball skills and drills instruction for area youth.
$25,000 in funding for the court was awarded by the Ralph Wilson Legacy Fund for Youth Sports along with a matching grant the village received from the Mary Hicks Preston Foundation.
Located at 8 Banta Street in Phelps, the court is on the east side of the Phelps Community Center building near the playground and outdoor fitness center. Parking is free, and the court hours are from dawn to dusk.
