A loud and large push last night by residents living around the Seneca Meadows Landfill to stop any plans to keep it open for another twenty-five years. Residents, like Donald McCarthy of Romulus, voiced their concerns before the Seneca County Board of Supervisors.

Seneca Meadows is due to shut down next year, however its operator Waste Connections has applied for a permit to continue through 2040. The final decision on the landfill is up to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
