Reports of a Wayne County School District receiving contaminated meat are not true.
Nearly 200 schools across the country received shipments of ready-to-eat meat products that have been recalled over possible listeria contamination, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
The FDA list included 7 schools in Newark, New York but the schools are actually in Newark New Jersey.
BrucePac, a producer of pre-cooked proteins, has recalled more than 11.7 million pounds of meat and poultry items.
