Report: Geneva Agrees to $61K Severance Package With Ex-Police Chief

SHARE NOW

A severance package approved by Geneva City Council last week netted former Police Chief Matt Colton almost $61,000.

The Finger Lakes Times reports the agreement includes 45-THOUSAND dollars in salary along with other accrued hours. Colton also receives health insurance benefits from the city for four months.

Colton resigned as police chief on March 29th, more than two months after being placed on paid administrative leave for a personnel investigation. The city never released any details about what prompted the investigation. Michael Passalacqua, who retired as chief last June, has returned to serve the role in an interim capacity.
