For the second time, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has deemed Seneca Meadows Inc.’s draft Environmental Impact Statement incomplete.
The Finger Lakes Times reports the latest notice was issued on Feb. 18, with no response yet from Seneca Meadows Incorporated. The landfill operator submitted the original draft in July as part of a proposal to expand vertically and extend operations to 2040. Currently, the landfill is set to close at the end of the year, under Local Law 3-2016, which remains in effect after a recent court ruling against Seneca Meadow’s appeal.
Seneca Meadows is the state’s largest landfill.
