Reliant Credit Union continues its dedication to helping students in the Finger Lakes put their best feet forward! Reliant recently donated 75 pairs of sneakers to Wayne Central School District. The sneakers will be given to students at Wayne Primary and Elementary Schools.
This is the third donation this year for Reliant’s Feet Forward program, a special community effort Reliant created in 2016, through which the credit union partners with area schools and organizations to provide quality sneakers to kids who need them. For the sixth year in a row, Reliant is collaborating with Jonathan Griffiths, owner of Rochester Running Company, who helped facilitate the credit union’s purchase of an array of high-quality sneakers so that the credit union could donate them to children who otherwise wouldn’t have access to quality footwear.
“Feet Forward is such a meaningful way we support the young people in our community,” said Pamela Heald, President & CEO of Reliant. “Every pair of sneakers represents confidence, comfort, and the opportunity for students to fully participate in school. We’re proud to help more students put their best foot forward.”
Since Reliant started Feet Forward in 2016, the credit union has donated 2,663 pairs of sneakers—a total investment of over $81,000 to help local children.
“We want to thank Reliant and their supporters for generously giving so many amazing sneakers to the students of Wayne Central,” said Catherine Grasso, a Wayne Central School District Social Worker. “It is wonderful to live in such a caring community.”
Reliant Credit Union, a member-owned, not-for-profit institution with over $692 million in assets and more than 47,000 members, has been helping the community achieve financial goals since 1970. Eligibility is available to all who live, work, worship, attend school, or volunteer in Monroe, Ontario, and Wayne counties.
