Red Jacket School District Clarifies Inclusion on “Targeted List”

SHARE NOW

Red Jacket School is letting its community know that a screenshot being shared about a recently published “targeted list” that includes the Ontario County district has nothing to do with school violence or the safety of students, staff, and faculty.

The “targeted list” is instead related to the Title One School Improvement Grant designation that is part of a federal and state initiative designed to provide additional resources and support aimed at enhancing academic performance in certain areas.

What You Need to Know:

  1. Purpose of the Targeted List: Being on this list is part of the Title I School Improvement Grant program, focusing specifically on targeted support to improve educational outcomes. It is intended to help schools benefit from enhanced assistance rather than indicate any concerns about safety or well-being.

  2. Focus of the Support: The targeted support provided through this grant will be directed towards addressing specific academic needs and enhancing educational programs within our schools. This includes additional funding, resources, and strategies designed to boost student achievement.

They ask that parents who still may have questions or concerns reach out to their child’s school building principal.
