He’s done it again and maybe with the same fish.
Last week, Thomas Russell, of Albion, caught a record-breaking Cayuga Lake smallmouth bass on the opening day of bass season. The fish crushed the scale at just over 9 pounds, breaking his record 8-pound, 5-ounce fish. Russell said the fish caught last week had the same marking as the fish he caught last year.

Russell did not wait to enter the fish in the NYS record books, instead he released the fish in hopes someone else will catch it someday.
The professional anglers that recently competed on Cayuga Lake missed that big one.
Syracuse.com reports while the winning pro took home $100,000, Russell and his cousin took home 11-hundred dollars for winning the tournament and $180 for the lunker.
