A Seneca Falls native has been nominated to serve as a federal appellate judge. President Donald Trump on Wednesday nominated Emil Bove to serve as a life-tenured judge on the Philadelphia-based 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
President Trump made the announcement on Truth Social:

Bove, a former federal prosecutor, represented President Trump during his criminal trial in Manhattan last year, working alongside Todd Blanche, who now serves as deputy attorney general. Trump was convicted on charges related to hush money payments made to a porn star, though he is currently appealing the verdict.
Earlier in the Trump administration, before Blanche’s confirmation, Bove temporarily held the role of acting deputy attorney general.
Bove, the 1999 salutatorian at Mynderse Academy, has had a decorated legal career spanning nearly two decades. After earning a bachelor’s degree in public policy and economics from SUNY Albany in 2003 and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 2008, Bove rose through the ranks of the legal profession, most notably serving as an assistant U.S. attorney in Manhattan for the Southern District of New York.
