UPDATE:
A collision between a Freightliner Tractor Trailer and a Freightliner Truck shut down a portion of State Route 332 at Airport Road in Canandaigua for nearly seven hours on Friday.
Police say the tractor-trailer was stopped for a red light on Airport Road when the Freightliner truck rear-ended it. No injuries were reported. The driver of the truck, Kevin Widzinski, of North Chili, was ticketed for following too closely.
The roadway reopened at around 3 p.m.
From the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office:
Due to a tractor-trailer vs a large commercial vehicle crash that has occurred on State Route 332 and Airport Road in the Town of Canandaigua, all Southbound traffic on State Route 332 between Thomas Road and Airport Road will be closed and rerouted, (see the marked detour on the map below in blue). The detour from State Route 332 will turn right on Thomas Road, left onto Sommers Drive, left onto Airport Road, and right back onto State Route 332.
The road will be opened once both tractor-trailer and large commercial vehicles are removed from the highway, which is anticipated to take several hours. A press release will be provided later detailing the crash.
