Police: Seneca Falls Man Used Fake Money to Pay Court Fines

SHARE NOW

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Thompson reports the arrest of a Seneca Falls man accused of trying to use fake money to pay off court fines.

Deputies say 30-year-old Cody Sabol was arrested on September 25th after allegedly presenting counterfeit currency to the Seneca County Finance Department to cover fines owed to the court.

Following an investigation, Sabol was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony. He was processed at the Seneca County Law Enforcement Center and is scheduled to appear in Waterloo Town Court on October 15th.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation; the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
