Police say a fire at an apartment on Prospect Street in the village of Newark was intentionally set by the resident’s boyfriend.
Edwin Williams is accused of setting fire to his girlfriend’s downstairs apartment early Monday morning while residents were inside an upstairs apartment. Newark firefighters put out the fire. No injuries were reported.
The 44-year-old Williams was charged with arson and is being held at the Wayne County Jail.
