Authorities in Ontario County have arrested a Rochester woman on animal cruelty charges after she allegedly stopped caring for her hospitalized grandmother’s parrot and 17-year-old Jack Russell dog.

An investigation determined Danielle Ambros took care of the animals at a Mobile Road address in Canandaigua until sometime in November. On December 19th, both animals were found dead inside the home due to apparent starvation. The animals had been buried in the backyard of the residence and were exhumed for necropsies at Cornell.

The 36-year-old Ambros was released on an appearance ticket for Canandaigua Town Court.
