An Ontario County man faces 10 to 25 years in prison after being convicted of predatory sexual assault against a child.
Tristin Elliott, of Phelps, went on trial after being accused of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13 from 2014 to 2017. Ontario County District Attorney James Ritts said the defendant testified against her 27-year-old abuser.
“For years this defendant compelled the silence of his young victim by threatening to leave her in the woods with the monsters,” said Ritts. “After enduring years of abuse, her fear of the monsters in the woods was finally less than her fear of the monster abusing her, and she told the terrifying story of her sexual abuse. Tristin Elliott is the precise reason our state has the crime of predatory sexual assault against a child. He is absolutely a predator.”
Elliott will be sentenced in the second week of January.
