Geisha Aman of Penn Yan has been sworn in as the new student trustee for Finger Lakes Community College. The ceremony took place on Aug. 6.
Aman, a human services major and first-generation college student, enrolled at FLCC in the spring of 2025 after more than a decade of experience in the social services field. She currently works as a youth employment and training counselor for Yates County Workforce Development.
As student trustee, Aman will hold full voting rights on the college’s 10-member Board of Trustees. She also serves on the Student Corporation Executive Committee and its Activities Committee, which develops programming to connect both in-person and online students with campus life.
Student trustees are elected each spring to serve a one-year term for the following academic year.
Aman lives in Penn Yan with her husband and their two children, ages 2 and 12.
