A Penn Yan man was killed in a one-car accident in the town of Gorham on Friday.
A preliminary investigation by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office showed 24-year-old Stephen Erb was traveling south on County Road 18 just before six o’clock when his Subaru CTK, went off the road, struck an embankment, and overturned. Erb was ejected and suffered severe injuries. He was taken to Thompson Hospital where he passed away.
A passenger in his car, 23-year-old Justine Maddox, of Penn Yan, was also taken to Thompson for treatment of minor injuries. The roadway was shut down for several hours for accident reconstruction. The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is handling the investigation.
Stanley Ambulance transported both victims to the hospital.
