Pedestrian Struck in Clyde Crosswalk; Driver Cited for Failure to Yield

SHARE NOW

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash that left a pedestrian injured on Tuesday evening in the Village of Clyde.

Deputies say a vehicle driven by Mary Osborne was turning north onto Glasgow Street from Ford Street when she failed to yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk. The pedestrian, identified as David Stern, was struck by the front of Osborne’s vehicle. Stern was transported by Wayne County Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation of a possible head injury and internal injuries.

Osborne was issued a citation for failure to yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The Clyde Fire Department and Wayne County Ambulance assisted deputies at the scene.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
