The purpose of the LDC would be, generally, to support economic development and neighborhood revitalization efforts in the Town and Village of Ovid. Upon incorporation, the LDC shall be governed by a seven-member Board of Directors appointed by the Town Board.

According to Ovid Town Supervisor Joe Borst, the Board would be empowered to act according to the LDC’s mission and activities, and selected according to all and only the following considerations:

  • Residency within the Town of Ovid is preferred but not mandatory.

Borst added that the LDC board shall have, as ex-officio members, the Ovid Village Mayor and Ovid Town Supervisor, or their designees.

To apply, applicants should send a letter identifying their current residence and their relevant experience, and send it to the Ovid Town Board, 2136 Brown St, Ovid, 14521, or email [email protected]

Applications must be received by 5:00 p.m. on June 30, 2025.
