Cayuga Health’s primary care clinics in Ovid and Montour Falls have officially been designated as Rural Health Clinics (RHCs) by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). According to the local healthcare system, this federal designation enhances access to high-quality, affordable care for patients living in rural communities.
RHC status provides clinics with additional resources and support to improve access to primary care services in underserved areas. With this designation, Cayuga Health’s Montour Falls and Ovid clinics will be better positioned to meet the evolving health needs of patients across Schuyler and Seneca Counties.
“This designation is a meaningful step forward for our Montour and Ovid practices,” said Elisha Wolfer, Director of Practice Operations. “It reflects the dedication of our providers and staff to deliver compassionate, high-quality care in rural communities. We’re proud to continue building access to essential services close to where our patients live and work.”
Cayuga Health became part of Centralus Health following its recent affiliation with Arnot Health, forming a unified system committed to advancing care throughout the Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, and Central New York regions.
