More funding has been announced for the Finger Lakes.

As part of New York State’s Regional Economic Development Council’s New York Main Street Program, over one million dollars is coming for four Finger Lakes projects.

“The New York Main Street program ensures that resources will be available for municipalities and nonprofit organizations working to revitalize downtown neighborhoods across the State,” said Homes and Community Renewal Commissioner RuthAnne Visnauskas. “This $5 million in funding will strengthen on-the-ground initiatives, further economic development, generate more employment opportunities, and create new housing options. Thanks to our local partners for spearheading the types of projects that will elevate the quality of life for residents, businesses, and visitors for years to come.”

The Village of Victor will receive $335,000 to assist in renovating commercial and residential units in mixed-use buildings in its business district. The Town of Lyons will use the $363,554 it’s receiving to do the same thing for buildings on Canal Street.

The City of Canandaigua will use $20,000 for a feasibility study on rehabilitating specific properties between 28-254 South Main Street.

The Seneca Falls Development Corporation will take its $475,000 in funding to help renovate 60 State Street into Sorella, a 110-seat restaurant and event space.

Statewide, five million dollars is going to a total of 23 grants.
