Saturday’s Prescription Drug Take Back event was a huge success in Ontario County.
According to law enforcement, in a joint effort, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department, The Partnership for Ontario County, and Canandaigua Police Department were able to collect 722 pounds of unused medications, 71 pounds of sharps, and had 340 cars come through the event to drop their items off.
Prescriptions, prescription patches, over-the-counter medicine, vitamins, prescription ointments, and pet medications were all collected at no cost for proper disposal or destruction.
