In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Ontario County first responders, service providers, and community partners will all gather outside of the Ontario County Courthouse for Purple on Thursday. Those who participate will wear purple to show support for those who have experienced domestic violence and to make sure that help is visible to all.
The gathering is set for 1:30 p.m.
Domestic violence is defined as a pattern of abusive behavior by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another. It can be physical, sexual, emotional, economic, psychological or technological. If you or someone you know might be in an abusive relationship, information and assistance are available within Ontario County.
Domestic violence thrives in secrecy; let’s end the silence and show survivors that they are not alone.
