The Ontario County Planning Board is looking to fill three openings.
The Planning Board reviews development applications, planning reports, and code amendments for potential county-wide or inter-municipal impact and makes recommendations to local municipal boards.
Current openings include representatives from the towns of Canandaigua, Gorham, and South Bristol. Town representatives are recommended by the respective Town Board and appointed by the Ontario County Board of Supervisors. County Planning Board representatives must be Ontario County residents and can represent town interests as residents, staff, business owner,s and/or non-resident landowners.
Serving on the Ontario County Planning Board is an opportunity to learn about planning and zoning rules and procedures and to interject subject matter expertise in agriculture, tourism, historic preservation, transportation, economic development, or environmental preservation into the Ontario County Planning Board review process. It meets the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 7 pm.
