The Ontario County Republican Committee will hold its annual Constitution Day Dinner on September 19 at Club 86 in Geneva. Organizers say the event will celebrate community leadership and feature prominent state and national Republican leaders.
This year’s honorees include Al Cauwels, named Ontario County Republican of the Year. Cauwels has chaired the Town of Phelps Republican Committee for ten years and has been an active member of the county committee. A longtime business owner, he served 12 years on the Midlakes Board of Education — nine as president — and four years on the Phelps Town Board.
The committee will also honor Judge Craig J. Doran with the Patriot Award. A native of Ontario County, Doran recently retired as a New York State Supreme Court Justice and Administrative Judge in the 7th Judicial District. His public service career included roles as a State Assemblyman, Ontario County Court Judge, and professor, as well as a past chairmanship of the Ontario County Republican Committee.
The evening will feature a VIP reception at 5:30 p.m., a cocktail hour at 6:00 p.m., and dinner at 7:00 p.m. The keynote speaker will be Congressman Michael Lawler, with special guest conservative radio host Bob Lonsberry. Other attendees include Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, Senator Pam Helming, and NYS Attorney General candidate Michael Henry.
