The Ontario County Republican Committee has endorsed candidates for local, state, and federal offices, the party announced following its Jan. 22 meeting in Hopewell. Chairwoman Trisha Turner said the committee is proud to support incumbents and local leaders who she said have represented residents with dedication and integrity.
“Our incumbents have been representing their constituents exceptionally well and deserve our support,” Turner said. “We are confident they will continue to serve residents with dedication and integrity.”
Congress: Claudia Tenney
Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, seeking re-election in New York’s 24th Congressional District, was first elected to Congress in 2016. The district includes most of Ontario County. Prior to Congress, Tenney served in the New York State Assembly beginning in 2010.
State Senate: Pam Helming
Senator Pam Helming, seeking re-election to Senate District 54, represents all of Ontario County. A former Canandaigua Town Supervisor, Helming was first elected to the State Senate in 2016 and has been re-elected each term since.
State Assembly: Jeff Gallahan
Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan, incumbent in Assembly District 131, represents the cities of Canandaigua and Geneva and the towns of Hopewell, Seneca, Phelps, Manchester, Gorham, Canandaigua, and Geneva. First elected in 2020, Gallahan previously served 11 years as Manchester Town Supervisor and four years as a town councilman.
State Assembly: Andrea Bailey
Assemblywoman Andrea Bailey, first elected in 2024, represents Assembly District 133, which includes Ontario County towns of Bristol, South Bristol, Richmond, East Bloomfield, West Bloomfield, Canadice, Naples, Farmington, and Victor. Bailey previously served as Livingston County Clerk and is a lifelong resident of Livingston County.
Ontario County Sheriff: Dave Cirencione
Sheriff Dave Cirencione has served in law enforcement since 2002 and as Ontario County Sheriff since January 2023. In his first term, he has focused on protecting the community and supporting deputies.
Ontario County Treasurer: Jeff Trickler
Jeff Trickler, the incumbent county treasurer, previously served as deputy treasurer and as chief of police for the City of Geneva.
Ontario County Coroners: Terri Haskins and Scott Avedisian
Terri Haskins, a nurse practitioner and accredited coroner, serves on the board of the New York State Association of County Coroners and Medical Examiners. Scott Avedisian is retired from the Ontario County Sheriff’s Department but continues per diem work for the sheriff’s office and the Phelps Police Department. Both currently serve as county coroners.
