Ontario County Man Accused of Selling Vaping Products to Minors

A Farmington man has been arrested following an investigation into suspected drug activity and the sale of vaping products to minors in the Farmington and Victor areas.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office says it began receiving tips in the fall through its drug tip hotline about possible drug sales in the Farmbrook Subdivision off State Route 332. Around the same time, deputies also received complaints about underage sales of vaping products to minors.

As part of the investigation, deputies, assisted by the Canandaigua Police Department, executed a search warrant on Tuesday at a residence on Bean Pole Circle in Farmington. Investigators determined that 20-year-old Raymond Nguyen was allegedly selling nicotine and THC vape products to early teenagers in the area.

Authorities say the transactions were arranged and paid for online, with Nguyen then delivering the products to the teenagers’ homes. During the search, deputies recovered vaping products and approximately $14,000 in cash.

Nguyen was arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child. He was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Victor Town Court at a later date.

The sheriff’s office is encouraging parents who believe their children may have been involved in similar transactions to contact their school’s school resource officer.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
