A New York City man will spend at least the next 15 years in prison for his role in a targeted violent home invasion that took place in Geneva in April of 2021.
26-year-old Eddie Marte pleaded guilty to multiple charges at the end of last year including burglary and kidnapping. He and another man were charged with breaking into a Geneva residence and holding the victim at gunpoint, beating him with belts and cords, and burning him with a knife.
The Finger Lakes Times reports a 19-year-old Pennsylvania man also charged in the attack has a trial pending. Both men, along with two others, face charges in Chemung County, for allegedly working in concert to abduct and torture a New York City man, who was shot, beaten, and burned before being driven to Pennsylvania and left to die in a remote wooded area. That incident occurred three months prior to the Geneva incident.
