The Canandaigua man who has been arrested three times this month for public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child is still behind bars following his most recent arrest last Friday.
“As District Attorney of Ontario County, I share the public’s outrage that Paul Goodrell had remained at liberty despite efforts by my office and the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision to have him held in custody. I am relieved to report that following a December 22 arrest Goodrell was remanded on bail and continues to be held in the Ontario County Jail,” said District Attorney James Ritts in a statement released on Thursday.
Goodrell, who according to the DA has been “a serial sex offender since the 1980s,” has been charged this month for three incidents where he allegedly exposed himself to young children in several stores. Law enforcement is now investigating reports that Goodrell was in the area of the Eastview Mall and surrounding stores at various times of the day.
DA Ritts is encouraging anyone who observed Goodrell expose himself or threaten the well-being of any child to call 911.
“The assistance of anyone who witnessed Goodrell’s behavior is needed to ensure Justice for the victims of Goodrell’s unconscionable behavior.”
