Ontario County Chamber Will Remain Put

The Ontario County Chamber of Commerce will remain in it is current location. Back in June, the Chamber listed its property at 113-117 South Main Street in Canandaigua with the intention on moving to a new location.

The ONChamber board unanimously voted to list the building following a multi-year assessment of its assets, with a premium placed on financial stewardship and driving member value. ONChamber Board Chair Michelle Pedzich said the purchase offer the chamber received didn’t meet its specific criteria for a sale or put the organization on a path to achieve its long-term goals. She noted, however, that listing the building did have a good outcome, sparking conversations about the community’s needs and use of the space.

“We pursued a purchase offer but ultimately that offer did not meet our criteria or position the chamber to achieve its financial or operational goals. We intend to remain in the building and continue conversations with potential investors and partners who want to improve the space to best meet the needs of the chamber and its members, and the community. These conversations have been positive and promising. We are all invested in the future of ONChamber, Canandaigua, and Ontario County,” said Pedzich.

The Canandaigua Business Improvement District (BID) and the United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes will continue to lease their spaces in the ONChamber building.
