Ontario County has a new Public Health Director.
Kate Ott, RN, MPH, was appointed at the July 13th meeting of the Ontario County Board of Supervisors. She has worked for Ontario County Public Health for 17 years in Communicable Disease Surveillance, Health Education, and most recently as the Deputy Public Health Director.
“Mary’s leadership, knowledge, common sense, and forward-thinking have ensured the department is well-situated for the future,” said Ott. “I am looking forward to working with the county leadership and my remarkable department members to pick up where Mary left off and to improve health outcomes for the residents of Ontario County.”
Mary Beer led Public Health for 14 years and was a nurse for over 40 years. In a statement, the Department said, “Mary will be greatly missed by her staff, county leadership, and community partners. Mary demonstrated leadership, dedication, and commitment to the health and wellbeing of Ontario County residents.”
