Two members of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office successfully completed Basic Tactical Medical Instructor Training recently.
The course was presented by the United States Department of Homeland Security and allows the two newly-certified instructors the ability to teach all Sheriff’s Office members how to address critical injuries in the field with limited resources. The focus of the training includes the use of tourniquets, pressure dressings, chest seals, wound care, extrication, and a host of other topics.
Sheriff Tim Thompson said, “In the coming months, we will be rolling this training out to all members of the Sheriff’s Office. I thank Sergeant Folts and Officer Hansen for their commitment to the safety of our team. Bad things can happen anywhere and this training will give our members the knowledge and confidence to address them immediately.”
