A local group has been established to help raise funds to enhance and insure the quality of the memorial honoring the Nation’s veterans at New York’s first veterans’ cemetery in Seneca County, the “New York State Veterans Cemetery-Finger Lakes.”
The Friends of the New York State Veterans Cemetery-Finger Lakes goal is to raise financial support to achieve a higher standard of care, maintenance, and permanent additions to the cemetery.
Retired State Senator Mike Nozzolio is Chairman of the group. Nozzolio secured state funding to help develop the former Sampson Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
