Multiple fire departments responded late Wednesday night to a house fire on Miller Street in Seneca Falls that started from an electrical outlet.

According to the Seneca Falls Volunteer Fire Department, crews were called to the scene around 9:47 p.m. after reports of smoke inside a two-story home. Responding units found smoke showing from the residence, with a fire hydrant located directly across the street.

Assistant Chief Daily was the first on scene and confirmed the fire. District Chief Farnsworth soon arrived and took command, while Deputy Chief Larsen later assumed operations.

Seneca Falls Engine 1, Quint 1, Engine 3, and Squad 52 responded, with the first crew — Assistant Chief Larsen, Assistant Chief Daily, Captain Donato, and Firefighter Pickard — making an “excellent hit” on the fire inside the home, according to the department.

Firefighters from Waterloo and Fayette assisted with extinguishing exterior flames and ventilating the structure. Canoga firefighters were placed on standby at the Seneca Falls station while crews worked the scene.

Crews remained on site for about an hour to ensure all hot spots were extinguished. Additional agencies, including the Seneca County Fire Investigation Team, Seneca County Code Enforcement, and NYSEG, also responded.

All units cleared the scene shortly after 11 p.m. No injuries were reported.
