Two people escaped injury following a Friday evening house fire in Phelps.
According to officials, the fire broke out at 6:00p on State Route 14.
A passerby was able to alert the homeowners who were inside with their dog about the fire, allowing them to escape without injury.
The City of Geneva and Oaks Corners Fire Departments arrived and began to fight the blaze located at the southeast corner of the house. The road was closed for about three hours while crews worked to secure the scene.
Also on scene were the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, Finger Lakes Ambulance, and Phelps Ambulance.
