The city of Newark’s Wastewater Treatment Plant operator has stepped down. Mayor Jonathan Taylor says they have options to fill the position relinquished by Jason Eygnor.
“John Reynolds has been the main operator for a number of years now,” said Mayor Taylor. “Dan Callahan and Rob Hilthicker are also on our staff there. So there are actually four altogether and Jason will be leaving us. We are already looking to hire his replacement.
Taylor added they are also planning for the eventual retirement of Reynolds.
“Certainly anyone under John we are looking to train to be the wastewater treatment operator someday.”
The plant is undergoing a $23 million upgrade and expansion project designed to meet the needs of village residents for years to come.
