A contract to begin a UV disinfection project at the Village of Newark’s wastewater treatment plant has been signed.
Mayor Johnathan Taylor says they’ve been planning this for a while as the Department of Environmental Conservation is requiring this from all wastewater treatment plants in the state
The project is expected to cost around $2.3-million.
This disinfection will make the plant compliant with all DEC regulations.
