Newark Police Department Adds Two Officers

SHARE NOW

Two new police officers have joined the Newark Police Department. Mayor Jonathan Taylor says his department is actively trying to recruit new members.

Eric Minisce, who had previously worked in Lyons and Wolcott, along with Brian Rutchee were sworn in as new officers this month.  The village of Newark provided additional background on Officer Minisce:

“Officer Minisce brings with him many years of experience in policing. He first became a police officer in June 2006 after graduating from the Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy. After the academy, he worked for the Lyons Police Department until they were dissolved in 2015, and then worked part-time in Clyde for many years. For the past year, he has been working full-time with the Wolcott Police Department. He says it is that small-town policing that he enjoys as he likes getting to know the people where he works and why he is excited to be able to serve the Village of Newark.”
