One of the Seneca Falls residents arrested after a child who was labeled as being in immediate peril was removed from their home is facing new charges.
While they were attempting to find the child in the home, police say they found a bag containing an illicit substance. On Tuesday we learned the bag contained over 69 grams of cocaine and belonged to 42-year-old Earl Heath. Heath is now facing felony drug charges as well as two new counts of endangering the welfare of a child in addition to the charges of obstruction of governmental administration and child endangerment charges he and 32-year-old Angelia Ely already face.
Police say they determined the child was “impaired by substances” as they were removing them from the home last Friday and sought immediate medical care for them. Another child in the home was located near where the bag of cocaine was found.
An order of protection was requested on behalf of the children.
Following his arrest on the drug charges, Heath was released following his arraignment due to current bail reform laws. He will answer the charges he faces in Seneca Falls Town Court at a later date.
